Hi! I'm Emily and I'm a third-year Graphic Design student at Staffordshire University. I love everything bold and tacky and would describe myself as the queen of the queef. Somewhere in the middle of my second year at uni I realised that I just wanted to be a designer. I want to design beautiful, queefy products for creative people like me.
I am now starting to think about what I want to do after university and I am keen to be designing actual, physical products and creating my own ‘brand’. I find I am inspired by bold and bright colours, strong graphic patterns and mixed textures. My favorite areas of dezign are print, pattern, and typography so it is important that I focus my products on these areas.
I want to design products that put a smile on the customers face and add a little unique and fun touch to their everyday life – whether this is a colourful touch to their living room or the greatest gift at a party (with beautiful wrapping paper too!) I just want to make cool stuff.
I have followed a lot of designers and their small businesses over the past two years, dreaming of starting up something of my own but never really having the balls to go through with it, but with graduation looming I know that now is the right time for me to establish myself as the designer that I want to be. The collections I will be starting out with are stationary, giftware and hoe wear. I sometimes see items on the high-street and believe I could do better – especially stationary.
